How many people work at True Sight Dice?
True Sight Dice is a one man show, starring yours truly, Matamume! I design, pour, sand, polish, ink, and market all dice you see on this website! Speaking of, this website is also managed by me!
What are the dice made of?
My dice are made primarily of epoxy resin. There may be additives of mica powder, alcohol inks, resin pigments, or other inclusions! The numbers are painted in acrylic.
Why are your dice so expensive?
The pricing of my dice is actually quite below market price for handmade artisan dice! The difference between these and the mass manufactured ones you find at game stores or amazon are that these are made entirely by hand. The dice is designed, then molded, then poured, then sanded, then polished, then finished all by hand. It takes an incredible amount of time and effort to complete a design, and as such are priced that way. Plus, not only are you purchasing a functional die (or set of dice), you are also purchasing a piece of art!
Do you ship internationally? Do you also accept returns?
Please see Shipping & Returns Policy.
But the short answer is, not yet on the international shipping! And for returns, due to the handmade quality of my dice, I do not offer returns. However, if there was a problem with the order, feel free to contact me! I’ll do what I can to set things right!
Are your dice balanced?
Generally speaking, yes. There is no such thing as 100% balanced dice; even casino dice aren’t 100% balanced, which is why they regularly get changed out. However, though these dice are not meant to be casino-grade, they are balanced for tabletop play!
You may be surprised to find out that handmade dice are actually more balanced than factory manufactured dice (i.e. Chessex, Kraken, etc.). Handmade dice are cured under high pressure to be more bubble-free. None of my dice are weighted and they all roll randomly. Pigments, colorants, and most inclusions do not weigh enough to have any effect on the weight of the dice.
However, even if they were weighted (which they’re not), they are numerically balanced! What this means is that whether there’s a weight bias on the dice, you are still going to have a statistically even spread of high and low numbers on your rolls. Taking a d20 as an example, the 20 face is adjacent to 2, 8, and 14. If the weight would somehow favor 20, you’ll also have a favor to 2, and vice versa to the 1 face.
Are your dice perfect?
They’re as perfect as can be! Due to the nature of handmade dice, there may be very slight flaws apparent. These may include, but not limited to: microscratches, microbubbles, mold marks, sanding scuffs, etc. I will do my best to include these, if any, on each individual product listing, so you’ll know what you’re getting!
That being said, do not fret! Every minor flaw that may be apparent on your dice will not affect the playability of the dice!
